Robinson's papers (inclusive dates 1914-1986; bulk dates 1923-1985) contain his research materials for "An Interpretation of the History of the Great Plains" and THE HISTORY OF NORTH DAKOTA. Topics included are population, agriculture, religion, education, energy resources, politics, industry, transportation and communication, water resources, native Americans, weather, medicine, parks and recreation, culture, the arts. Robinson's camera recorded a variety of subjects, including photos and slides of family and friends, the University of North Dakota, Church and political activities, North Dakota communities, historical buildings in Grand Forks, events at U.N.D. and in Grand Forks.
